How Are The Purity Grades Of Fluoride Products Classified?

The vast majority of inorganic fluorides on the market are classified according to general industrial grades, which are also the most widely produced and applied basic grades. Industrial-grade fluorides typically have a purity between 95% and 98.5%, and are generally divided into three levels: ordinary industrial grade, first-class industrial grade, and superior industrial grade. This grade mainly controls basic indicators such as main content, moisture, water-insoluble matter, and iron and silicon impurities, without strict restrictions on trace heavy metals or ultra-low ion residues. These grades are moderately priced and have sufficient production capacity, mainly used in traditional industrial applications such as electrolytic aluminum fluxing, glass etching, ceramic processing, basic metallurgy, and general chemical additives, fully meeting the requirements of conventional production processes.

For laboratory testing, fine analysis, and small-scale R&D scenarios, fluorides are uniformly classified according to **reagent-grade purity**, strictly adhering to general chemical reagent standards in China, and are divided into three grades: chemically pure, analytically pure, and superior pure. Chemically pure fluorides generally have a purity of 98% or higher, suitable for general teaching and basic synthesis experiments. Analytical pure fluorides can reach 99.0% or higher, with stricter impurity control, suitable for routine testing and analysis, and scientific research experiments. Superior purity is the highest grade of reagent, with a purity close to 99.5% and extremely low impurity content, suitable for high-precision experiments such as precision testing, standard solution preparation, and trace analysis. Reagent-grade fluorides have strict control over interfering impurities such as heavy metals, sulfates, and chlorides, and are dedicated to scientific research and quality control.

Fluorides used in high-end industries and consumer sectors are uniformly classified as high-purity and dedicated civilian-grade, belonging to the industry's high-standard grades. Electronic-grade and lithium-ion battery-grade high-purity fluorides generally reach a purity of 99.9% or higher, with some ultra-high-purity products reaching 99.99%. They implement extreme control over metal ions, trace impurities, particulate matter, and moisture content, and are specifically suitable for high-end manufacturing fields such as new energy lithium batteries, semiconductors, precision electronics, and optical coating. Toothpaste-grade and daily chemical-grade fluorides are not simply graded based on their main content, but also focus on safety indicator control, strictly limiting heavy metals and harmful residues, and complying with food contact and oral contact safety standards. They are special sub-grades that have undergone safe refining, taking into account both purity and safety of use.
